  • 5 Examples of Job Applications Using Geotextile

Geotextile is a flagship product of our company. Many construction companies use Geo Textile because this material can provide additional stability to the embankment base which is located on soft soil with low bearing capacity and high settlement.

In general, Geo Textile is widely used for various jobs. But there are some job applications that use geotextile materials. What are they? Here are 5 geotextile applications.

Road Construction

The first thing is in road construction, here Non Woven Geotextile which has high tensile strength functions as a separator layer or separator between the subgrade layer and a pavement layer above it so that the pavement material is maintained in spreading.

On Land

The second thing is on the land here. Hilon Geotextile can be applied to land that will be reclaimed / stockpiled. So that the embankment material does not mix with the mud/subgrade (as separator), the stockpiling becomes more efficient and economical.

On the Beach

On the beach, Non Woven Geotextile combined with stones or tetrapods can be used as an erosion barrier, so that sand is not carried away by currents or waves. And it can also be installed under a pile of stones / tetrapods on a breakwater / breakwater. The function of Non Woven Geotextile here is as a filter and separator.

On the Railroad

On railroads, geotextile can be used as a separator between the subgrade and crushed stone (ballast), so that the thickness and characteristics of the ballast layer are maintained. And finally created a strong path.

Concrete Maintenance

Geotextile can be used as a maintenance material for concrete after curing as a substitute for burlap sacks. The curing process is useful for preventing loss of water in the concrete when the concrete reacts/hardens (oxidation process), so that the quality of the planned concrete can be achieved in terms of quality and time.
